The origin of the hat design:

After 10 Years of toiling away in the Yiddish kitchen, we decided to celebrate The Gefilteria with a limited-edition embroidered hat.

Over the summer we asked our community to choose between a few hat designs, and the carp in bathtub design was the clear winner. It was perfect for us since the stories of families keeping fresh fish in their tubs in the NYC tenements in order to make the freshest possible gefilte fish for Passover left an indelible mark on both of us, and inspired our work in Jewish food. In fact, The Carp in the Bathtub is among our most cherished children’s books.

We know you’ll love this beautiful hat which was designed in collaboration with our friend and designer, Val Brains. It also makes a great gift. ;)
